Website Payments a Reality with Meracord
As a product evangelist regularly discussing Meracord with payees and payers, here is the most common question I get: "Can I just go to a website and make a payment?"
For those of you who make payments, you’re probably thinking that paying online is a no-brainer these days. For payees, though, it seems like taking payments on the web is getting more convoluted. I just read the "Annual Field Guide to Alternative Payments" in Digital Transactions magazine*. It outlines so many options for online payments that it's difficult to know if you're going to end up with a partner that can be reliable and consistent.
You can work with popular companies and pay a premium or obscure companies that offer a great deal. There are APIs with SDKs, payment buttons, auto-generated HTML, gateways, merchant accounts, aggregators, businesses that can take credit cards and those that can't. If you can take cards, you need to be PCI compliant; some partners can help, some can't. If you want to take ACH/eChecks, you need authorization AND authentication. Of course you just need micro transactions and 48-72 hours to authenticate someone. There are verified addresses and unverified addresses... etc. etc. etc.
Lost yet?
Getting this question regularly and seeing a convoluted marketplace, we thought hard about making web payments accessible and simple for our customers.
We listened to what customers needed and found a way to offer a simple method of payment that's easy to integrate with our current solutions and keep the robust reporting on the back end.
We created a unique method to authenticate online payments (ACH/eCheck and credit cards) and receive immediate authorization, all within the confines of adhering to a set of security standards. There’s your complete online solution.
On top of that, I'm pleased to say that with the progress we've already made, we are currently slated to launch that solution within a month.
I wish I could share more but I don't want to steal marketing's thunder. Our marketing team has outdone themselves preparing for this product and will be working to make sure more information is readily available very soon. This is a pretty exciting new product for us. Are you looking forward to having a simple payment solution on your website? Let us know, we’d love to hear from you.
